A franchise is a commercial contract in which a merchant, called the ‘Franchisor’ allows another merchant, the ‘Franchisee’ to use the intangible rights belonging to him either in whole or in part, such as a company name, trademark or licenses. This is generally done for an entry fee as well as a percentage of the franchisee’s turnover or as otherwise calculated.
