Authors' Rights

By Anonymous writer - Glossary

Authors’ rights are intellectual property rights, falling within the category of literary and artistic property. The protection of these rights lasts for 70 years after the death of the author and derive from the sole fact that the creation of the work was original.

The law of authors’ rights includes the patrimonial rights of the author/creator, i.e. all of the rights concerning the use of the work for which the author receives some sort of remuneration; and non-patrimonial rights which are incapable of being transferred and which include the right of the author to always be cited in his capacity as the original author as well as the right to respect of the work.
