Assignment

By Anonymous writer - Glossary

An assignment is a contract whereby the holder of an industrial property title (e.g. a trademark, design or patent), called the ‘Assignor’ transfers the property title to a third party, called ‘the Assignee’. The Assignee has all the rights over the industrial property title which has been assigned.

For third parties to have any right of claim or to bring an action, the assignment contract must be registered at the French National Registry of Trademarks (Registre National des Marques).
